On August 17, Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital invited medical staff from Vietnam's 175 Military Hospital and officials from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to hold an ECMO center seminar.

The event was held in collaboration with The JW LEE Center for Global Medical Center at Seoul National University College of Medicine to establish a trauma center at a military hospital in Vietnam. Hyoung Soo Kim, Director of the ECMO Center at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, gave a lecture on the topic ‘The Role of ECMO in Trauma Centers.’ Additionally, a tour of the ECMO intensive care unit facility was conducted.

”We, ECMO Center of Hallym University Sacred Hospital, have been providing the best treatment with the latest equipment for the development of the intensive care sector,“ said Director of the ECMO center, Hyoung Soo Kim. He also added, “We will continue to carry out a variety of activities to help establish a trauma center in Vietnam’s Military Hospital.”

Meanwhile, Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) had participated in the construction of Quang Nam Central General Hospital with 500 beds in 2007 as a project implementation institution, which was funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). In addition, HUMC provided education and training for human resource development, including hospital operation advice and medical staff training.
