No.5011 Date2016-06-17 Hit 29851

Members of Emergency Room at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital visited government office in Dongtan on June 15 to offer CPR training class to local residents including elementary school students, teachers, and voluntary patrol team. This training program is a part of occasional education programs, in which lecturers, including the head nurse Ms. Jeong Hee Choi, pay a visit and provide training classes to public offices, schools, long-term care hospitals, and construction sites.

The CPR class, the purpose of which is to be prepared with Emergency First Response, included theory lesson with lecture and video, and practice session. The participants had chances to practice CPR on manikins, as well as to learn how to use an AED(Automated External Defibrillator).

Head nurse Choi said, “The importance of safety education cannot be overstated especially these days, after many accidents and incidents. We are doing this to inform local citizens of our professional knowledge. We will continue the training to contribute to the society.”

One of the teachers who joined the training said, “Young students are exposed to dangers in many different ways. I really wanted to participate in this kind of training to handle unexpected emergency situations. Through the training, I found out what I was wrong about, and could correct my knowledge.”
