Dr. Lee Su Kim selected as Chairman of KATES

Dr. Lee Su Kim, Professor of of Breast Endocrine Surgery at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital was selected as a new Chairman of the Korean Association of Thyroid and Endocrine Surgeons (KATES) in the 2016 KATES spring conference. Dr. Kim, who is acknowledged to be the highest authority on thyroid and breast cancer treatment, has served as the Vice President of Korean Breast Cancer Society while he was the director of Breast & Endocrine Cancer Center since 2007. He is currently serving as the President of Korean Society of Lymphedema and the Executive Director of Korean Surgical Society. He was given credit for the contribution to the related societies as well as the academic and medical achievements, which played a great role to be elected as the Chairman of KATES for a two-year term.


Prof. Lee studied in the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the U.S. for two years as a visiting professor since 2000. Every year he participates in the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research and presents his research results.
In addition, he is actively engaging as a judge and an editor of the world’s prestigious medical journals such as ‘British Journal of Cancer’, ‘Breast Cancer Research and Treatment’, ‘World Journal of Clinical Oncology’ while doing his job as an expert member of new medical technology at Ministry of Health and Welfare.
