Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital invited Dr. Ketan Badani, Professor of Robotic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital for lecture and robotic surgery demonstration on August 24, 2015. Dr. Ketan is a world renowned urologist and medical pioneer in the field of robotic surgery.
After a lecture on robotic surgery, Dr. Badani and Dr. Young-Goo Lee, Professor of Urology and Director of Robotic Surgery Center jointly demonstrated a robotic surgery to treat a patient with prostate cancer. The two professors successfully removed a tumor from the patient by using ‘da Vinci Xi.’
Dr. Ketan Badani has performed over 4,000 robotic procedures in his career and has led teams that first developed and published techniques for minimally invasive robotic kidney cancer surgery. His technique of robotic partial nephrectomy, The “F.A.S.T.” procedure has been published and taught around the world to treat patients with renal tumors.
