Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital concluded an agreement with Yeongdeungpo Fire Station to establish a ‘Brain-saver system,’ an information transferring system for acute stroke patient, on March 20. The Brain-saver is a stroke treatment activation system and was developed by Hallym University Medical Center for the first time in Korea in July 2014. This system helps 119 rescue workers send symptoms and medical information of suspected patients to a hospital through the Smart phone application while transferring the patient and, based on the information, a hospital can immediately examine and treat the patients on arrival.

By signing this agreement, Kangnam hospital and Yeongdeungpo Fire Station will install the ‘Brain-saver application’ in smart phones of all Yeongdeungpo-gu rescue workers and will operate the system after a general training.
