Uppsala University President visits HUMC hospitals for future collaboration

Uppsala University delegates led by President Eva Akesson visited Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital and Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital to see hospital facilities and meet with Hallym leadership on April 20, 2015.
Among the Uppsala delegates are President Eva Akesson, Deputy Vice President Mats Larhed of Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy, Professor Marie Allen of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, Mr. Thomas Fredengren, Head of Alumni, Fundraising and Academy Stewards Offices, and Ms. Lina Solander of International Office.
At Dongtan hospital, Hallym leadership including Chairman Dai-Won Yoon, President Hae-Ran Lee, Executive Vice President Yong-Sun Kim, and Hospital director Kyu-Hyung Ryu welcomed the Uppsala delegates and introduced the hospital. After a presentation at Dongtan hospital, the Uppsala delegates looked around the hospital including the recently established translational medical research institute, outpatient departments, and intensive care units.
They moved to Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital in Anyang and toured on HUMC’s flagship hospital. Hallym leadership introduced the hospital facilities and discussed future collaboration with Uppsala leadership.
Chairman Dai-Won Yoon said, “Uppsala delegates’ visit will be both pleasant and rewarding to you and it will serve as a significant momentum to boost the Hallym-Uppsala collaboration for the future.” President Akesson replied, “We are honored to be here at the most advanced HUMC hospitals. I wish to keep working together with Hallym for mutual development in the field of education and medicine.”
The Uppsala delegates came to Korea to participate in the “2015 Korea-Sweden Excellence Seminar” which was jointly organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and the Swedish Academic Collaboration Forum(SACF) from April 21 to 22, 2015.
