Hallym delegation visits UCLA Health System

A group of Hallym University and Hallym University Medical Center visited the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center to discuss ways to start a collaboration between HUMC and UCLA on Oct. 24, 2014.
During the visit, the 8-member delegation led by Dr. Yong-Sun Kim, Director of the Ilsong Institute of Life Science and Professor of Microbiology, observed facilities of UCLA Health System including Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Hallym members met with UCLA’s key officials including Mr. Shannon O’Kelley, Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Tom Rosenthal, Chief Administrative Officer.
The delegation was briefed about UCLA hospital’s management system and patient-centered care expertise ranging from clinical quality improvement to patient experience provided by UCLA officials.
The two parties agreed on the need for initiating a joint collaboration and they agreed to determine areas of exchanges and continue a working-level discussion after Hallym delegation returns to Korea.
UCLA Health System is a leading medical institution comprised of four hospitals: the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center; the UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica; the Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA; and the Mattel Children's Hospital.
According to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2014-15, UCLA Health System ranks No. 5 in the United States and No. 1 in both California and the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
