A group of U.S. officials of 51st Medical Group at Osan Airbase led by its newly appointed commander Col. David Cockrum visited Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital on August 14, 2014.
The visit was to have discussions to check out the Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities which have quickly emerged as a hub for U.S. service members’ healthcare and various treatments since the opening of International Healthcare Center in 2013.
Among key Osan Airbase officials include Col. David Cockrum (Commander of 51st Medical Group), Col. Peter Kim (Chief of Medical Staff), Lt. Col. Mark Cleveland (Chief Administrator), Lt. Col. Vickie Skupski (Chief Nurse), Major Marsha Doldron Bryan (Chief, 7AF/SG Medical Plans and Operations), and Captain Boyd Fritzsche (Tricare Operations Flight Commander).
Dr. Jae-Hyuk Shin, chief of orthopedic surgery, commenced the meeting with a welcome speech and briefly reported the hospital’s treatment system for U.S. soldiers.
The U.S. military officials toured the main facilities of the hospital including emergency medical center, VIP wards, MRI room, operation theaters and intensive care units. They were impressed at the hospital’s newest facilities and its patient care system.
With Osan Airbase’s officials visit, Hallym University Medical Center expects more U.S. service members and their families will find the hospital to make the best use of its International Healthcare Center and enjoy the highest quality service.
Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital is geographically situated in a prime location. It is just a 30-minute drive away of Osan, Suwon and Pyeongtaek.
