Followed by the first event in October last year, HUMC invited some 62 Mongolian doctors and TV station officials and introduced Hallym University Medical Center and its outstanding medical skills.
Doctors who completed fellowship training at Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital also joined the meeting and discussed ways and strategies for improving cooperation ranging from training more Mongolian doctors at Hallym to sending Mongolian patients to Hallym.
Led by Dr. Sang-Soo Lee, an Orthopedic surgeon and the head of international healthcare task force team at HUMC, Dr. Dong Kyu Kim of Otorhinolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, Dr. Ki Cheol You of Emergency Medicine and Dr. Jae-Hyuk Shin of Orthopedic Surgery joined the Hallym delegation.
Before the gala dinner, Hallym delegation visited Gurvan Gal Hospital for two days to provide free medical treatment from September 25 to 26. Hallym doctors treated about 180 Mongolian patients including a 69-year-old man who needed arthroplasty surgery and young wrestle who suffered from a torn ACL.
“It is worth sharing advanced medical knowledge with doctors in underdeveloped countries,” Dr. Lee said. “Through these philanthropic activities we will be able to promote the public health in the world.”
