No.3510 Date2012-08-27 Hit 31265

The 3rd Oulu-Hallym International Symposium took place at the Environmental Sciences Building in the University of Oulu, Finland on August 27, 2012. Under the theme, ‘Current Issues in Medicine and Environmental Engineering,’ experts from Hallym University and University of Oulu shared views on medical and environmental issues.

A 8-member Hallym medical delegation, headed by Dr. Dai-Won Yoon, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hallym University, visited Oulu for this meeting. Among other Hallym delegates were Dr. Hae-Ran Lee, President of HUMC, Dr. Kyoung-Ha Park, professor of cardiology, Dr. Jeong-Hee Choi, professor of pulmonology and allergy, Dr. Wook Chun, professor of burn surgery and three professors of environmental sciences and biotechnology, Dr. Jin Yong Park, Dr. Dongjin Kim, and Dr. Seungdo Kim.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Dai-Won Yoon, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hallym University, said, “As you are well aware, our relations are traced back to the year of 2008 when Hallym concluded an affiliation agreement with Oulu. After that, the first Hallym-Oulu international symposium took place at Oulu in 2009. The second joint meeting was successfully held at Hallym last year with the participation of Rector Lajunen, Dean Emeritus Savolainen and prominent professors of Oulu. And today, we are now gathered here again for our third symposium. Looking back, it is true that our academic cooperation is at an early stage. Nevertheless, our sustained progress in bilateral cooperation is attributable to Rector Lajunen, Dean Emeritus Savolainen and Oulu professors’ support and guidance. Your encouragement and advice for Hallym are deeply appreciated all times.”
