The Munhwa Ilbo Meets with Prof. Neugut of Columbia and Prof. Lee and Prof. Kim of Hallym on October 30, 2012.



Hallym University Medical Center hosted the 9th Hallym-Columbia-Weill Cornell-NYP Interna¬tional Symposium under the theme, “Novel Anti-cancer Treatment Modalities for Gastrointestinal Cancer” at the auditorium in Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital on October 30, 2012.


Professor Alfred I. Neugut of Cancer Prevention Center at Columbia University, Professor Bong Hwa Lee of Surgery at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital and Professor Byung Chun Kim of Surgery at Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital shared their opinions on the diagnosis and treatment for colon cancer.


Professor Neugut presented an adjuvant therapy for colon cancer, and Professor Lee introduced a hybrid laparoscopic surgery by using merits of laparoscopic surgery and open abdominal surgery. Professor Kim told about his research on the prevention and treatment for rectal cancer.
