World’s Life Science Experts Join the 14th Ilsong Int’l Symposium

The Ilsong Institute of Life Science of Hallym University hosted the 14th Ilsong International Symposium on “Aging and Neurodegenerative Diseases” at Moonhwa Hall in Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital on April 27, 2012.


Sponsored by Hallym University and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), the symposium was attended by medical professionals from Hallym University in Korea and the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology (NCGG), Nagoya City University and Hokkaido University in Japan. The experts of the two countries introduced their research results and shared extensive knowledge through thought-provoking lectures. They also actively joined discussions on a translational research on Alzheimer’s disease connecting basic and clinical medicine, and a clinical research utilizing cutting-edge medical techniques.


The Ilsong Institute of Life Science was established in 1994 to develop Hallym University into a specialized institution in life science. Since 1995, it has invited Japanese experts to the Ilsong International Symposium every year to discuss issues on aging and neurodegenerative diseases.
