No.3306 Date2012-04-09 Hit 28126

Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital and the National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC) provided medical services for about 100 local residents with little access to medical care in Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do on April 7, 2012.

The medical aid team offered a large number of medications to treat elderly people who are suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. The NHIC supported two mobile health service buses with medical equipment such as a slit lamp microscope, a tonometer, a non-mydriatic retinal camera, an autofractometer, a CCD camera, a surgical curette, an electro cardiography and an ultrasonography.

Mr. Sung-wook Kim, a resident, said, “I couldn’t even think about going to a hospital because it is now a very busy season. I am so grateful to Hallym and NHIC for kindly providing medical services for our community.”

Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital has been offering free medical services in rural areas and plans to deliver medical aid activities for people in Hyunnae-myun in Gosung-gun, the northernmost town of Korea.
