Chuncheon Garners Gov’t Accreditation

No.2970 Date2011-07-01 Hit 28386

Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital received an accreditation mark from the Ministry of Health and Welfare(MOHW) on June 16, 2011. It is the first medical center in Gangwon-do accredited by the government. The accreditation program is designed to evaluate patient safety and the quality of medical services.

After undergoing the screening of the ministry from April 26 to 29, Chuncheon finally won the accreditation mark. By belonging to the upper forty percent in another MOHW evaluation of emergency centers in Korea which aims at bettering the nation’s emergency care systems, Chuncheon is now allowed a government grant of over 180 million won.

Dr. Dong Joon Kim, director of the hospital, said, “I believe the concerted efforts of all hospital members have brought about this fruitful result. We will stand ready for yet another take-off to provide quality emergency care to patients.” “As the first tertiary medical institution with the governmental accreditation, we will continue to do our best to promote the healthcare of the region,” he added.
