Hallym Recognized for Excellent Acute Stroke Care

No.2762 Date2011-01-10 Hit 30578

Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital and Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital ranked 1st with 100 points in acute stroke care in 2010, respectively, by the Health Insurance Review Agency(HIRA).

The agency reviewed the nation’s 201 stroke care hospitals in ten items including human resources at the departments of neurology, neurosurgery, and rehabilitation medicine, preliminary patient surveys, quick and accurate early detections and proper care. The government organization grants first grades to hospitals with more than 90 points. Hangang and Chuncheon proved themselves to be the nation’s top-class stroke care facilities by scoring 100 points, respectively.

Neurological diseases including stroke are a fatal illness with the highest mortality rate. Risks, however, could be significantly reduced by early detections and timely medical treatments.
