Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital launched a Safety Rounding Team(SRT) at a ceremony on Feb. 18, 2010 at the Ilsong Munhwa Hall.

The team consists of 30 medical safety coordinators from the teams for quality improvement, medical support, and administration under the leadership of the hospital's chief administrative officer.

The team's mission is to work out safety problems of the environment and facilities for the patients and for all hospital employees by identifying dangerous facilities and places during biweekly rounds and by improving intramural communications.

It will play an essential role in helping the hospital develop a safety culture so that customer satisfaction can be maximized.

About 100 doctors, nurses and administrative personnel including Dr. Byung-Chul Lee, director of the hospital, Dr. Yul Lee, chief medical officer, Won-Seob Lee, chief administrative officer, Dr. Kyung-Ho Yu, director of Quality Improvement TF, and Dr. Han-Sung Kim, director of Patient Safety Management TF attended the ceremony followed by the first two-hour round.

Citing international cases, Dr. Han-Sung Kim said, "We will try to help our patients and staff recognize the significance of safety and improve the system by carefully looking at each and every potential hazard factor."

"To meet the global standards, we have formed the SRT timely with the introduction of international criteria for patient safety, and their application to our hospital. I hope all members here are committed to enhancing patient safety and upholding a customer value," Dr. Byung-Chul Lee emphasized.
