No.2230 Date2009-10-07 Hit 33699

Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital's community service team, 'Nanum', or sharing, has now been now providing its neighbors with philanthropic services for four months. The team was organized in May this year to better understand and share difficulties of the local community, and fulfill its coperate social responsibility (CSR).

The community service team consists of five small groups which work for multicultural family support, education, environment, home visits, and a welfare facilities. 150 Kangnam employees are joining hands in these activities.

The multicultural family support group, which has been providing Korean language education to marriage immigrants, gave a lecture on "How to use public facilities including hospitals" at the Yeoundeungpo-gu Multicultural Family Support Center on July 24, 2009. It plans to offer more lectures such as 'How to manage diabetes or emergency situations.' The welfare facility team has been helping senior citizens at a district nursing home with health consultations and medical examinations twice a month, and visits Yeoju Angel's House for volunteer works every month. Other teams are also joining various volunteer programs organized by community services centers.

Through these social supports to meet the needs of its community, Nanum Community Service Team is expected to become a leading volunteer of the region in the near future.
