Radiation Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology cures tumors by radiation therapy. Radiation therapy is one of three types of cancer therapy with surgery and chemotherapy. It is at the forefront of fighting cancer, providing the highest quality care to patients. The therapy shows a higher cure rate in early head and neck cancer, cervical cancer, and prostate cancer. Radiation therapy is useful in preserving organs in breast cancer, laryngeal cancer, esophageal cancer, and anal cancer. It is also performed for a perfect cure and cure after surgery in other types of cancer.
