The Department of Pathology provides the final diagnosis of diseases, conducting histopathologic tests, cytopathologic tests, and autopsies. For a histopathologic test, specimens from biopsies and surgeries are given after an examination through a microscope after fixation, dewatering, paraffin-embed, microtome, and staining. To help urgent diagnosis, the department works closely with clinical doctors in their decisions on treatment directions by frozen section tests, special tests for differential diagnosis, and immunohistochemistry tests.
